Accreditations and Reviews

We are keen to provide the children at Rufford with the best education we possibly can.  To judge how successful we are, we work towards a range of accreditations and awards and take part in a number of external reviews.

Challenge Partners

Every year we receive a Quality Assurance (QA) Review from a national organisation called Challenge Partners. This powerful, peer auditing process involves a visit from a team of senior leaders and headteachers, led by an Ofsted-accredited inspector. Their role is to engage in a dialogue with the host school on evaluating the quality of education there and identifying where improvements could be made. The process is very rigorous. Eco-Schools Silver Award

Our fantastic ECO Team, led by Miss Hough have championed green issues so  well that we have gained the top ECO Schools award – a Green Flag.

Healthy Schools

To maintain Local Healthy School Status schools need to complete a biannual Whole School Review. This is based on the whole school approach to health and wellbeing. 

Food For Life Award

We have worked hard to achieve the Food for Life Bronze Award.

Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM)

The Primary Science Quality Mark is an award scheme to enable primary schools across the UK to evaluate, strengthen and celebrate their science provision.

DrugAware Award

We have been awarded the DrugAware Standard for Excellence in Early Intervention Practice for Drugs and Alcohol. Our official letter states that our ‘commitment to developing children’s knowledge, skills and attitudes will help them in making the sometimes difficult health and social choices they may have to make in life’

Music Mark School

We have been recognised as a Music Mark School because of our commitment to providing a high-quality music education for all children.

Primary Geography Bronze Quality Mark

We have achieved the Primary Geography Bronze Quality Mark  because of our high-quality geography provision.

Green Tree School

We are a Green Tree School because of our commitment to Outdoor Education.

Local Leader of Education

Mrs Tones, Head Teacher, is an accredited Local Leader of Education (LLE).
