What is Pupil Premium?

The pupil premium is funding allocated to schools to boost the attainment of pupils from low-income families. Funding is based on children registered for free meals or that have been in care for more than six months.

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their wealthier peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.

How much Pupil Premium does the school receive?

Our allocation for the current financial year = £285073 plus £30740 COVID Recovery Funding

The percentage of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals is 57%. The national percentage is 25%.

We have used the research evidence provided by the Education Endowment Fund (EEF) to guide our decisions about where to spend our Pupil Premium funding. Full details can be found in the document below.
